Philippine Media Network Service Cooperative (PMNSC) Chairman Gerry Zamudio (second from right in photo) led a group of PMNSC members to meet with Jackie O. Constantino, Manager of the Institutional Housing Department at PAGIBIG Fund, to discuss housing programs that would benefit members of the media industry as well of Filipino-run cooperatives and other organizations. The meeting was the first of several planned that are intended to pave the way for media practitioners nationwide to avail of the many affordable housing options that PAGIBIG Fund is offering.
Constantino (leftmost in photo) and her staff explained some of these offerings and pointed out which of them are among the most feasible for media practitioners as well for other sectors of the cooperative community. She said her team is ready to assist organizations, such as the PMNSC, who are not into housing as a business but are that are looking for ways to help marginalized sectors and underprivileged individuals avail of affordable housing.
As an offshoot of the dialogue, Chairman Zamudio said the PMNSC will be looking at available housing projects, first in the National Capital Region and later nationwide, to see if there are sites where developers may be open for a partnership with the cooperative.
“Let’s move forward from here and witness our cooperative flourish,” Zamudio said. “Our coop provides opportunities for everyone to grow together, inspiring each member along the way.”
The PMNSC is also expected to conduct a more robust information campaign so that members of the coop, including prospective members from the various media outlets throuhgout the country are adequately appraised of the steps they need to take in other to take advantage of PAGIBIG’s housing offerings, as well as those offered by other agencies, including the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).
Constantino said PAGIBIG Fund fully supports Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ aim to build more housing units than any past administration and is stepping up to realize the president’s desire to make its home mortgage financing more accessible to all Filipinos.
PMNSC Board Director Noche Cacas, and members Ariel Fernandez and Charlie Manalo were also in the meeting.
